I've had my nerite snails for three years. They live in a tank with shrimp, and have had various fish companions during their time with me. They are actually pretty smart little things! My RO water is treated with Salty Shrimp GH KH+ & a half dose of API Aquarium Salt (only API product I recommend, except for the API Master Test Kit.). I have only rarely supplemented their feeding, obviously I have enough algae to keep them going. BTW, snails love a slice of carrot, especially when its been in the tank a day or so. Somewhere I've got some HILARIOUS photos of the snail upside down, munching on the carrot slice. BTW, the aquarium salt doesn't mess up my plants. But I NEVER EVER use more than the full recommended dose of salt in any aquarium, and that only for treatment purposes!!!

What gallon size would you recommend for neon tetras and maybe a male betta?

Not many water changes and no fish have died. 👍😊

Hi, I want to ask: 1. For a 20x20x25 tank, do you need an aerator? There's already a hanging filter... 2. In the morning and afternoon I turn off the lights because there is sunlight, do I need to provide an aerator? 3. I will turn on the lights at night after I get home from the office around 9pm (because I'm in the bedroom, the AC is on 16°C 😅 so I need a light so the water isn't too cold🙈.. 4. Fill with low CO2 plants, bright fluorescent fish, guppies, mollies, platties, and ornamental shrimp.. 5. The tank is new and will be filled with tap water (in Indonesia, you can't drink tap water because it contains iron and chlorine). 6. what should I do and what do I have for my tank?

They are fragile at first; acclimation is everything for them. I have a heavily planted tank and they do really well there, even with chasing and territory fighting. I do not know how they can get boring, though - they are so inquisitive and cute, always messing around my britslenose or ''fighting'' with neocardinas. So much to observe!

Alot of fish stores have bettas already with other fish. They almost always do well.

I have a golden mystery snail in a 2.5 gallon tank with a female koi betta, and I had no idea that thing sticking out was a siphon. I thought it was a parasite 😂. I had an “infestation” of brown algae in my tank, and he took care of it in only a couple of days. So personally, from my own experience, they are great with algae. But also I’m relatively new to aquarium things, so I could be very wrong.

Axolotls are not extinct in the wild yet, they still live in 2 lakes in Mexico, but are quickly going extinct due to over fishing and they get caught in the fishing nets. :(

For the shell dweller tank algae, would a nerite snail be happy in there since they can do okay with brackish water?

Nowhere on my bottle of Paragaurd does it say treat for 14 days. As a matter of fact it doesn't say anything about how long to treat the fish. 🤔

I actualy think dwarf corydoras are super adorable, but unfortunately everyone else seems to agree, so I didn't find any to buy and ended up buying some kuhli loaches instead (they are also super cute)

Hi, can someone tell me if internal filter happet delfin150 is good for 25L aquarium?

My blue dream shrimp are in a jungle tank with a blue police box. But I want to get them a new tank, of the same volume as their current one but a bit upgraded, and make a nice layout. I recently made a diorama tank with a lush carpet, a dolmen made of elderly rocks and a couple of different trees around. Once the algae phase clears, I think it'll look very nice.

Neon tetras are a NO for me my betta bit one of their tails off hes in another tank now

I just had to remove my plakat female betta from the tank because I think she was getting hardcore nipped by the neon tetras.

My tank is brown (water tannins, mulm, and pencilfish), green (plants and male endlers), tan (sand and female endlers), orange (male endlers), yellow (male endlers), gray (otocincluses and hillstream loaches), and blue (neon tetras and male endlers).

Can I ask what substrate you use. Ive always used gravel and I wanna get rid of it. I was told pool sand but I'm iffy on it. Thank you

I wouldn’t always add a Kuhli loach because my betta loves all of the hiding spots in the tank and I know the kuhi loach will want to hide during the day and my betta like to too so my betta will hate the kuhli

Reduce stress... do away with gravel and cap your nutrient substrate with SAND.

I’ve had the same Nerite snail for 7+ years. 🐌It has thrived through many different water conditions. I can’t figure it out. I’ve bought fancy snail food, which it ignores and prefers to consume tank algae. I always try to keep track of where it is because I don’t want it to die and foul the fish tank. The person who commented before me mentioned how fast moving these snails are and it’s true. I turn my back for a few minutes and it’s moved to the opposite side of the tank.
